After completing Pre University, he joined Institute of Film Technology, Adyar, Chennai, one of the premier Institute run by Government of Tamil Nadu and obtained a Diploma in Film Editing with distinction in the year 1978.
Started his professional career as a Film / Video Editor in 1980 at Lucknow Doordarshan and also worked in Jalandhar, New Delhi and Bangalore Kendras.
While in Doordarshan, completed a “Basic Television Production & Technical Operations” course at FTII, Pune in 1982 and attended
a workshop on “Making Television Quickies on Health Programs and Family Development” at Asian Institute of Broadcasting Development, Kualalumpur, Malaysia in 1985.
Was part of the Live Telecast Team during important National events like Asian Games 1982, World Cup Cricket, NAM, Apna Utsav etc.

Edited first ever TV Serials in Punjabi & Kashmiri titled, Gardish and Bhanwar respectively

After serving Doordarshan for over 14 years, resigned in 1996 and co founded Prime Images (P) Ltd, a Video Production house and worked as an Editor and Program Director.

Joined TMG Enter, a 24 hour startup TV Channel as a Senior Program Producer/ Senior Editor in 1999. Had a brief stint as a visiting faculty in COMMITS, a Media Institute in Bangalore.

Later joined Nimbus Television as a Video Editor and served for 2 years.

In 2004, started Infomax Creations a production house and since then making Ads, Corporate Videos, and Documentaries for organizations across the region.

Edited over 200 Documentaries, TV Shows, numerous TV Serials & Short Films and Directed many Documentaries, Short Films, Ads, Corporate Videos, Product Videos.

Worked with many luminaries in Film & TV media. Have a combined experience of over 30 years in the Field and performed many roles like Editor, Director, Executive Producer, Vision Mixer and Marketing Executive.

Proficient in Conceptualization, Planning and Directing of Programs & Multi Camera TV Shows.

Recently directed a documentary on D V Gundappa (a litterateur), for Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, which was acclaimed immensely.

Honored with ‘Vijayeendra Puraskar’ by Sri Swamiji of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantyralayam for outstanding contribution to the field.

He joined MIT Institute of Design as an Asst. Professor in Film & Video Design to share knowledge with the future aspirants.
