Professor James Craig conducted an extensive workshop of three days on 3rd, 4th and 5th March 2014 with MITID™ Graphic Design students on Expressive Typography. There were projects related to visually enhanced quotation, experimental typography and personal poster
The assignments were to demonstrate how a simple quotation can be typographically enhanced to express core meaning of sentiment. Students experimented typography where the basic motive was to expand their imagination by creating a free form design. Lastly students made their own personal poster to make a graphic statement about themselves by combing personal images
The workshop has enriched our students with exuberant experience and valuable feedback from James and made them understand how to use typography with more sensitivity. The workshop was assisted by Shakti Banerjee and Rajendre Thakre.
