Assoc. Prof. Mahendra Potdar with over 14 years of teaching and 9 years of industrial experience allowing him to inspire and guide students across diverse artistic realms. He holds MFA in Sculpture from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, a B.F.A. in Sculpture from Pune University, and an Art Teacher Diploma from DOA Maharashtra.  He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Art & Design, which is in its final stages, further enhancing his expertise and contributions to the discipline. His research papers have been published in numerous national and international conferences and journals, focusing on traditional art and craft, technology & literature etc. Mahendra Potdar specializes in traditional and Contemporary creative art, delving into the interplay of material and concept. His innovative approach merges traditional techniques with contemporary practices, allowing him to create unique art across various mediums.

Mahendra Potdar has worked as Head of the Department of Fine Arts at MIT SOFA and Goa College of Art (Goa University), gaining deep knowledge in art education. As an active Board of Studies member and AIC committee member at several universities, he has significantly contributed to academic syllabus and curriculum development. Additionally, he serves as a jury member, paper setter, and examiner for various universities, including Goa University, SNDT University, and Solapur University, supporting the growth and development of aspiring art students.

 His involvement continuously extends to judging & Jury panels for well-known big events such as the Goa Carnival Festival, Goa Shigmotsav Festival, Goa Tripurari Purnima Boat Festival, Bal Shree Competition at Bal Bhawan, CCRT reginal scholarship in Visual art Pune etc. Through these roles, he fosters artistic expression and community engagement, ensuring that cultural celebrations and competitions thrive.

Mahendra Potdar recognized with various state and national awards, his engagement in exhibitions, workshops, and art camps across India has established a distinguished presence in the field of sculpture. He has actively participated in numerous national workshops and exhibitions, showcasing his creativity and vision. His artworks are included in well-known private collections in India and other countries. 

Mahendra has successfully led major industrial projects, including Goa International Airport and the Art and Culture Department of Goa, providing students with invaluable hands-on experience in the art industry.

He has conducted more than 40 workshops in various traditional arts and mediums, helping students to refine their skills while connecting with their cultural heritage and sustainability.
