A graduate of the Film & Television Institute of India, Pune, K Rajesh has specialized in Film Editing. While editing films, documentaries and short films for several years, he simultaneously moved into Scriptwriting and Film Direction. His first script,’ Vivash’ won the Hubert Bals Script Development Award, Rotterdam, in 2004. His directorial debut, a Hindi feature film titled Chor Chor Super Chor (2013) was invited to several international film festivals and enjoyed a popular run on the home video Network. K Rajesh has been working in feature films & TV Commercials in Hindi &Malayalam languages since many years. He has directed many TV commercials for top brands like Philips and Nestle, besides public service films for the Government of India. His ad, Sooraj Ki Gullak won a Silver in the prestigious FLAME awards (2014).

Following his pedagogical pursuits in film education, K Rajesh forged international academic partnerships with the British Film Institute and Cinematheque Francaise, Paris in 2016. He acquired training in film education from the Cinematheque and brought an international filmmaking program for young people, Le Cinema cent ans de Jeunnesse to India. Under this avante-garde experimental film program followed by 17 countries across Europe, UK, Japan and Cuba, K Rajesh produced and mentored more than 30 short films, several of which have been invited to children’s film festivals worldwide.
