Sourav Banerjee is an Assistant Professor in User Experience Design with over five years of industry experience. His expertise spans industrial ergonomics, human factors, and interdisciplinary biomedical research. He holds an M.Sc. with specialization in Human Factors and Ergonomics from the University of Calcutta. He received a Gold Medal from the university in recognition of securing the first rank and demonstrating academic excellence.
Sourav led an ICMR-funded research project focused on the neuropsychological assessment of patients with Parkinson’s disease. His work aimed to improve diagnostic accuracy and psychological outcomes by applying human factors methodologies. This approach aimed to advance patient care and support improved quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.
Sourav played a central role in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team for biocuration software in the pharmaceutical industry, leading efforts to enhance usability and efficiency in biomedical data curation and analysis.
His work is published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is a contributing author to the Handbook of Usability and User-Experience (Taylor & Francis); "System Perspective in Usability and UX Design: A Case Study of an Indian Cooking Spatula," explores the application of ergonomic principles in everyday product design.
Sourav has led other ergonomic redesign projects in mining, agriculture, and domestic tools—targeting musculoskeletal risk reduction and usability enhancement. His research-driven design approach bridges usability, system performance, and human-centered outcomes.
