MIT ID’s Animation Design curriculum nurtures innovative thinking in students, enabling them to tackle such challenges both in the local and global context. Our carefully designed program empowers students to solve complex communication design-based problems using animation as a medium. MIT ID Animation program highly encourages and motivates students towards entrepreneurship and start-ups. The goal of the program is the development of industry-ready, skilled professionals and complete filmmakers, following India’s national education policy.
MIT ID animation program offers a well-balanced curriculum that encompasses major and minor courses such as visual development for narrative and non-narrative animation, character designing and storyboarding, animation fundamentals and advanced animation techniques with both 2D and 3D mediums, motion graphics, stop motion animation, along with related skills such as graphic novel development, experimental animation, narrative illustration, user-centric animation, sound design, VFX for film and game. We at MIT ID take research seriously, hence our selective classroom projects are supported by deep research and academic papers.
In addition, the department is incorporating the latest technologies, such as AI, VR, and other innovations, to provide students with a highly personalized and immersive learning experience, with storytelling being at the heart of it all. The department has several MoUs with international universities, providing students with the opportunity to study in a foreign university for a semester.
